Everyone Arrives and Now its Party Time
July 8 Today we
began our day at 3:30 am when our friends the from St. Louis knocked on our
door. They drove straight through the night because all hotels were booked
within a two-hour distance of Gulf Shores. Friends who are like family can feel
comfortable to do something like that!!!
Rob, NaNa and I decided we would take the Little Yachty down the ICW to
buy bait for our impromptu fishing trip. We had a blast riding the waves of the
large boats we passed. The dock helpers face was priceless when we pulled up in
our little dingy and asked for bait and 200 gallons of diesel fuel!! When Rob and I are together, there is always
double trouble. The rain finally stopped and we decided to go fishing. I have
to admit the gulf was really rough. The bay was white capping and we had one
adult and two kids get sick! Amy and I realized the teacher in NaNa kicked back
in when she started spotting invisible dolphins! Yes, it was a great
distraction which made them forget about feeling sick! We decided to cut the fishing trip short and
headed back to LuLu’s.
Our friends from Houston arrived and gave us a ride to the
beach house. Everyone was excited with the beautiful four-story house with an
elevator. I was concerned about NaNa’s knee and found a beach house with an
elevator. NaNa drove the kids and Gracie to the beach on the golf cart while
the guys hung out around the house and the ladies went grocery shopping. Should
I tell you they have been shopping since 8:00 and it’s now 11:00? NaNa took the
girls for their annual shopping trip to the local Dollar Store to buy the
Scavenger Hunt treats and other stuff. The girls are completing a 3:00 am Slime
Challenge. Guess we will have some grumpy girls tomorrow or they will sleep the
day away. It has been a fun day with family and friends. BTW. I will not admit
to starting a pillow fight no matter what the kids or Patrick say!
